Q20 Sponsorship for 2011

Great news (for me anyway) is that Q20 have agreed to sponsor me again next year. So its a big thankyou to Q20, especially to Chris and Lee for all their hard work to make this possible!!!

This has encouraged me into getting some better video recording and data logging equipment, so the current plan is to get a a Video Vbox from Racelogic. I'm currently in negotiation with them to get some sort of deal , so watch this space for some seriously fancy footage

Q20 at The Mechanex Show at Stoneleigh

The car was used as the main display on the Q20 stand at the Mechanex show at Stoneleigh on the Tuesday and the Wednesday. Luckily there was no external damage to the car at Snetterton so she was looking her best, especially after a rub down with petrol and a quick application of polish :)

As an extra visual and stand attraction i created a movie of all the TV highlights broadcast by Motors TV featuring my car, plus added some extra onboard footage, slides and questionable sound tracks!!

Forwards, backwards then slowly forwards

After getting back from holiday I realised i don't have that much time left to get this lot finished!! Dad had been busy while i was away spraying up the body, which again he has made a excellent job, especially considering he isn't a painter or have a spray booth. So here's a sneaky peek of the mid tub tub and rear

The initial idea was to have a wider centre stripe, but due to the lumps and bumps on the bonnet, applying the red and light blue stripes would have been impossible, so opted a narrower strip that only goes over relatively flat surfaces.

The recent TV coverage from the last Brands race featured a lot of my onboard footage (mainly because only 2 of us submitted any), so i thought i'd make the effort to improve the stability of the cameras hoping to recieve further good coverage and please Q20! So i weld a couple of brackets on for the cameras and while  its off, we decided the shabby looking roll cage would look a lot better if sprayed up in white.

So the car is looking pretty bare at the moment and further away from completion than before i started!!! I have at least now checked the car over mechanically, changed the oil and replaced the rear pads so other than body work the car is actually ready top race.

You may have noticed the new banner at the top of the screen and wondering what i am up to. After about 9 months since answering an initial post on www.locostbuilders.co.uk and numerous emails and lots of hard work by Chris Lomas, we have managed to secure a sponsorship deal from JV International who are now marketing Q20 Oil across Europe.

Q oils is a South African range of products new to the European market. The range of oils currently enjoys a market share of 70%+ in its home markets and is the standard issue of the South African armed forces. The Q20 product displaces moisture, prevents rust, protects and lubricates all household and industrial products.

The car bodywork will now have to be finished for Brands in June and the shiney new Q20 livery plastered all over it!! I must also try harder not to smash the thing up at every meeting!!!!
