The GM3 Chassis

The easiest option for the chassis would be have a standard Vortx chassis with custom engine mounts and rear diff, and something done to the tunnel, but the Vortx is a long car and and there would end up being lots of "empty" car infront of my feet (with the shortened drivers compartment, so the decision was made to shorted the the chassis by 9", this is the length we took out of the drivers compartment to make it fit me, and the gap in the bodywork between the fruy bonnet and scuttle, so all falls into place nicely.

Marc has also made up a new rear end to house the diff, the geometry is the same as the Vortx but the chassis is very different. Infact Marc likes it so much he has mentioned he may build something similar into the vortex. There are still tubes missing, and welds to be finished, but here are are a selection of the highlights before we went up to mount the idler and engine

I love this

The drawn in lines are where extra tubes will probably go

During our visit up there we got the tunnel in with the idler and mounted the engine, this then allowed us to fix the positions of the bulkheads and finish some of  the triangulation.

To say i am pleased is an understatement!!! The workmanship is fantastic and i love the design, its all seems to be coming together nicely!!!!!!
